Gen-Ship
What is Gen-Ship ?
Basically, Floating Power Plant is a Ship having Electric Power Generation capability. Gen-Ship is a fast track solution for urgent demands of electricity. It can be installed at a coastal site which has minimal onshore infrastructure. As the Floating Power Plants are self-propelled, they are always ready to go overseas and connect into the national grids where required. According to the platform ship’s size, the Installed Power may vary from 50 MWe to 350 MWe. As prime movers, Gas Turbines, Steam Boilers & Turbines, Nuclear Reactors can be used as well as Reciprocating Engines.
Why Gen-Ship?
Advantages of Gen-Ship
No new substation onshore is requiredconstruction.
Feed directly into the transmission network
Provides secure power supply in the event of earth quakes or floods
Does not require a large site
Independent from soil quality
The ship is a mobile asset, possible to relocate
Suitable for Base Load and Peak Load operations. (frequency response)
Provides fast supply of electricity to areas with limited infrastructure
Gen-Ship Fleet
Our Fleet are designed to be enviroanment-friendly, innovative hi-tech concept to meet the chronic energy shortages in developing regions. While the very nature of Gen-Ships mean that they can be deployed anywhere in the world, different regions have different grid codes to comply with, so the ships need to be adaptable enough to connect to the grid and able to supply power wherever it is needed. Our Gen-Ships utilise the highest technology and efficiency, and are available in a variety of fuel options to suit the location. We can provide a variety of commercial structures such as short term Independent Power Producer (IPP), long-term IPPs, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and rental contracts with our Gen-Ship fleet.
Our Fleet consists of:
-> Sydney Class 50 MW
-> Melbourne Class 100 MW
-> Launcestan Class 200 MW
-> Darwin Class 350 MW
->Adelaide Class 500 MW
